The glow up on our homeschool room is CRAZY 🤯 I have had so much fun making this room comfortable & functioning for everything we need over the past year.
We have one more month of school (mainly just doing our America unit) before we take a month off before year 3 starts!

I never thought I would be teaching first grade math to my 4 year old but here we are 😅
He has been wanting to do more with lessons and has seemed to be bored with pre-k stuff. When it comes to math, he just gets it. I was looking through a CLE curriculum I had originally planned to use with Jackson but didn’t. I had it on hand and thought ‘well, I’ll just keep it until Knox is in first grade’ and a few months later, here we are!
We are taking our time with things that are very new to him (place value) and really getting deep into it to make sure he really understands the concept. His writing of the numbers is actually fantastic for being 4 but we are working a lot on number writing.
I am so proud of him and he is doing so well. And he is proud of himself. He is being challenged just enough to stay engaged but not too much to where it’s far over his head.

Homeschooling takes time. A good chunk of time. I thought when we started homeschooling that we would be done by lunch time and have so much more time for other activities.
And that’s not always the case. Sometimes we are finishing up by noon, other times we are still circling back while I’m cooking dinner.
It never ceases to amaze me how busy we are. Between lessons, extracurriculars, co-op, other activities, family time… we stay on our toes.
