All blockers do is make you work harder to find p**n.

To find a way around the blockers.
Blocker is treat the symptoms, but not the source.

When you treat the source, you don’t worry about urges because you know what to do.

And eventually, you stop having them because your brain knows that you’re not gonna use it so it stops offering it.

All your thoughts are intrusive.

Unless you think a thought intentionally, it's intrusive.

So lets not make intrusive thoughts about p**n a problem.

In essense, you want to not make it a problem and give your brain a new thought to think when they show up.

Pick one of these or come up with one on your own (that you believe) , write it on a sticky note and practice thinking it.

Practice when you have intrusive thoughts and when you don't.

Pretty soon you'll anchor it in your mind and you'll start thinking it automatically.

“I don’t have to do anything about this thought.”
“It’s just a thought. I don’t have to follow it.”
“I can let this thought be here without doing anything.”
“I don’t need to engage with this thought.”
“I can have this thought and still choose what I do next.”
“This thought doesn’t require my attention.”

If you look at quitting p**n as a simple habit change, it’s much easier to let go of.

When we apply the addiction label it becomes this other thing that is difficult to let go of.

Mainly because it becomes part of your identity.

You identify as an addict.

When you look at it as a simple habit change it’s easier to change and let go of.

Habit changes are gradual so you can expect yourself to do the old habit 90% of the time and the new habit 10% of the time.

Then it’s 80/20 70/30 60/40 etc

To the point where you never do it anymore.

People quit p**n for a lot of reasons.

It goes against their religion.

It goes against their personal values or morals.

They are ashamed or disgusted for watching it.

They don’t like how much time is lost watching it.

Or like me, they don’t like how much power it has over you.
I didn’t like that. I felt powerless over it.

You don’t have to quit, only you get to make that decision for you.

Some people just simply want to cut back.

I was so determined to quit that. I literally locked my password in a safe. Then I broke into it.
