What a way to start my Spring Break. :-) I received this email yesterday after I offered my special tutoring services this week to my current parents.

"We were on our way to Disney for spring break. I just want to say I admire everything you do for these kids. I truly hope you know how much of a blessing you are to your students. I hope you have a wonderful break, it is much deserved. We appreciate all that you do. Thank you."

Then I found these pictures. We had the BEST Head Start teachers ever. Rissa and I were lucky enough to get two rounds of pre-school because of our late birthdays and our dad's insistence that we strengthen the skills we learned the year before. IT ALL PAID OFF. Attention Parents, Guardians, and Learning Coaches,

If your high school student is currently enrolled in an English course through APEX — whether for original credit or credit recovery — I would love to offer additional support during Spring Break.

I am hosting a Spring Break English Support Special designed to help students stay on track, complete assignments, prepare for quizzes, and successfully earn their course credits. Students are welcome regardless of which high school they attend.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, I am deeply committed to helping students succeed. This year, I have seen many students struggle to earn credits, and I want to provide extra guidance and encouragement to help them finish strong.

During tutoring sessions, I can assist students with:
• APEX English assignments
• Quizzes and coursework support
• Reading and writing strategies
• Organization and pacing to help students complete their courses successfully

I currently teach English 9, 10, 11, and 12 (including Honors and AP courses), and I am excited to work with students who need extra help or motivation.

An estate gift of more than $1 million from the late Patrick L. Roberts and Christine (Sowinski) Roberts ’73 will support scholarship opportunities at the University of Evansville, reflecting the couple’s lifelong commitment to service and education.

Christine Roberts, a 1973 UE Nursing graduate, went on to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and healthcare consultant in Missouri. Patrick Roberts owned and operated a CPA firm for more than three decades. Together, they built a life grounded in generosity and a shared belief in the power of education.

Their legacy gift will help reduce financial barriers for future students, expanding access to transformative academic experiences at UE for generations to come.
