AAM Group class registration is live for our fall semester! Our students love these groups and have tremendous growth in their skills and confidence over the course of the 12-class semester. We offer Beginner Ensemble (4:45pm), Intermediate Chamber (6pm), Advanced Chamber (7pm) on Monday evenings. School aged students must be enrolled in private lessons (here or elsewhere) in order to participate in these classes.

In addition we offer adult ensembles: beginner orchestra on Thursdays from 10-11am and Intermediate/Advanced chamber orchestra on Wednesdays from 7pm-8:30pm. If you have never played in a group before, please email our studio director at [email protected] to decide on placement. Don't be afraid to join us, this is a casual and fun group intended to foster a love of playing with others!

Curious what it is like to attend AAM strings camp? Check out these highlights from camp last week! Sophia Lassiter

This week, our String Camp Orchestra is celebrating two outstanding New Jersey composers and educators: Cooper Ford and Jennifer Meckler.

Both are high school orchestra directors who are deeply committed to string education, and we’re grateful to share their music with our campers. This week, our orchestra is performing ā€œPrecipiceā€ composed by Cooper Ford. Yesterday campers had the wonderful opportunity to work directly with Cooper during a special workshop. After coaching small groups, he conducted the full afternoon orchestra—a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Today’s camp recital will conclude with the beautiful ā€œVivaldi Summerā€ arranged by Jennifer Meckler, a work that brings together every level of our string camp. It allows our newest musicians to play alongside our most advanced students, creating a truly unified ensemble.

We’re proud to feature the music of these talented local composers who continue to inspire young musicians throughout New Jersey! Cooper Ford - Music Sophia Lassiter

This afternoon at strings camp Erika Sayar led an instrument maintenance workshop. This is one of the many benefits of the relationship between The Violin Doctor and Amadeus Academy of Music — students get direct access to and instruction from an expert luthier.

If you look closely you can see that the instruments were in pieces! Students learned about the different parts, how to reassemble and care well for their instruments. Thank you, Mrs. Sayar!

First day of strings camp was a success!

We’ve been a little quiet on social media because our team has been enjoying some summer adventures. Apparently, our students have too!

While flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport earlier this summer, Erik (from Erika Sayar’s studio) spotted one of the public pianos provided by Sing for Hope and couldn’t resist giving his spring recital piece another performance.

Turns out, memorizing your music has its perks—you never know when you’ll stumble upon an audience… or an airport piano! šŸŽ¹āœˆļø
