This week within the baby room we have had lots of fun exploring a range of activities from under the sea to around the world. The babies have enjoyed getting messy exploring our sensory trays exploring the different textures with their senses, using their fine motor skills and exploring different vehicles making marks with the wheels🌸🐘🦕🌍
Following on from that the babies found the sea animals stuck in the ice. We used our fine motor skills to squeeze the ice in our hands and the babies had lots of fun watching it melt to rescue the animals. Yayyyy! 🐢🧊💙
Last of all the babies has had lots of fun making their own lemonade. The babies did lots of scooping and pouring with their cups and squeezed the lemons and limes with their hands. 'Mmm yummy,' as the babies had a little taste🍋💚

In Toddlers...we have had so much fun this week learning all about under the sea🦀🫧
We started the week off doing some water painting and exploring our beach themed tuff tray, the toddlers loved digging all of the animals out of the sand and exploring the different textures of the sand and rice🐟🌊
Later on in the week we decorated our own sea shells and starfishes for our display for the room. The toddlers have been using their fine motor skills to paint on their sea shells holding the paint brushes with a firm grip. The toddlers had lots off fun at the end sprinkling sand on too, to give it a textured effect⛱️🐚
To finish the week off the toddlers enjoyed decorating some jellyfish for our displayboard. They used their fine motor skills to paint the glue onto them and stick on the tissue paper. Lastly the toddlers enjoyed splashing around in the ocean themed water tray 🐳🫧

This week the pre-schoolers have been practicing their cutting skills with a chick cutting and sticking activity, they showed brilliant control of their scissors as they cut around the shapes which they were able to identify, this activity helped the pre-schoolers to strengthen their dominant hands and improve their fine motor skills.
We have also been expanding our knowledge by learning about balancing, the preschoolers have been using the scales and cubes to watch which side drops down showing it has more weight, this has also helped us to expand our maths vocabulary by using words such as heavier, lighter, more, less and add as we have also been counting the spaces that were missing cubes to do some simple addition.

This week in babes we started it off by making a splash in the garden, getting all of our teachers wet as we splashed them! This was so nice in the lovely warm weather we had. We didn't stop the fun there, we made a big mess with our pretend ice cream sensory tray, exploring all the different textures. Of course we had to taste it too, this was yummy!
Following on from that we made some ice cream pictures by dabbing foam rings in the paint, talking about all the different colours and all the different flavours we like, we used lots of words during this.
When we arrived at nursery on Thursday all of the dinosaurs had gotten into a big mess in the mud, we found this so funny and got them even messier! But then we felt like they was a bit too dirty so we gave them all a nice bubble bath.
We finished our wonderful week with a trip to library to look at all the books, we chose our favourites to fake back to nursery to read all next week, how exciting. We wasn't ready for the fun to end so we stopped off at the park, along the way we saw lots of different animals, cars and tractors. We was shouting woof woof at the dogs. Before heading back to nursery we went to tesco to get some delicious fruits and we made our own smoothies for our pudding. What a great week!

their shapes, colours and celebrating national bee day🐝. We have been using cut out
shapes to create our own bees talking about what shapes they are and how we can use
them to decorate our bees while learning lots of fun facts about what bees do for our
environment.
The children have loved exploring with the paints and doing some colour mixing to decorate our own beehive and honeycombs to decorate with.
