Nishmat’s Yoatzot Halacha are devastated as we mourn the passing of our teacher, our Posek, our Rabbi, our guiding light,

HaRav Yehuda Herzl Henkin ZTZ”L

A gadol b’Torah, of vision and breadth, upon whose shoulders Yoatzot Halacha have stood for the past 20 years. A prolific author and profound halachic authority for our generation, Rav Henkin was a brilliant scholar, an ardent Zionist, and a talented musician, who melded deep commitment to millennia of Torah tradition with compassion and understanding of modern Jewish life. His piskei halacha paved the way for deeper Talmud Torah and practice for all women. His leadership and genius made innumerable contributions to the Jewish world, and his loss is incalculable to Am Yisrael.

Our hearts are with his beloved wife, our indefatigable Founder and Dean, Rabbanit Chana Henkin, and his children and grandchildren.
