Please leave a comment if you feel seen by this. I’ve been reading a lot of stories recently about people who are realizing they are neurodivergent and/or have chronic illnesses. There is also an emerging body of research about the link between these things. I also feel like I’m starting to recognize an increased prevalence of this in creatives. If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your story.

2016 was a big year for my making journey. We got married that year and made so much stuff for our wedding. We also started taking bigger risks with projects in our house, and I started sewing again. We hit 10 years of marriage this year, and we’ve built, made, sewed, hundreds of projects together in that time. We have also been keeping a big (kind of huge) secret, that was a craaazy project to take on. I’m getting close to being able share, and can’t wait to see what you all think 😁

These reindeer are ready to ride tonight— Merry Christmas to all! 🎄🦌 What should we make next?
It genuinely fills my soul with joy to be able to bring their ideas to life like this. Shout out to all of the parents holding on by a thread this week. You’ve got this, and anything you do with love is incredible 🥰💕🎅
Our Rudolph heads light up! I can’t wait to get the second head done and add the rest of the details. What do you think so far?
What are your favorite holiday traditions?
I hope everyone has at least one person they can be weird with. It’s super underrated. Now is a great time to reflect, prioritize your values, do things you love, and surround yourself with your people— the ones you can be your plain-old-weird-self with. I’m so grateful for my crew.
I love this trend because throughout our lives, we get input, ideas, pulls, or direction to do something, and far too often, we don’t listen. Here’s to those moments where we lean in, do something we may not know how to navigate, and just try. It’s amazing what can happen when we open ourselves up to possibility.
What have you done that may have felt scary at first but you are so glad you did anyway?
My son loves to build but sometimes gets stuck when he isn’t feeling that spark of creativity. We recently discovered the .app and he’s obsessed. It’s such a great tool for helping to bring back that creativity spark and fill hours making things!
So I think my kids think we just make costumes for every holiday now, and honestly, I could get on board with that. Can you guess what we are making?
