Proverbs 17: 27
“Those with knowledge know when to be quiet, and those with understanding know how to remain calm.”

When you know, you don't have the need to add to the conversation. People have more access to information than ever before. People confuse access with knowledge. So the truth is, that most of the time, we don't know. We are around people that do know but we don't or can't hear them because we are so busy knowing out loud.
So another wisdom can be attached to this one. Better silent knowing than noisy foolishness. Let us listen, so we can know.

Proverbs 15: 6
“Great treasure may be found where the right-living make their home, but trouble awaits the wicked at every turn.”
Take a moment to consider the things in your life that have no price. These are the things that are invaluable. Someone may argue that these things are all intangible. Is the love of a spouse intangible? Is the love of family intangible? Is the affection for a true friend intangible?
The true treasures of life have no price tag. If you and I lose every 'thing' we have and still have the love of family and friends, we are and remain, rich.

Proverbs 13: 12
“Hope postponed grieves the heart; but when a dream comes true, life is full and sweet.”
Hope is written into those words. When hope is deferred it brings some sadness to the ones who will not see the dream fulfilled, but they do not leave this world sad. They leave with joy, knowing that they have passed on the Hope, the Idea to the next generation, waiting for the time when the dream can take root and bloom. That is what Hope is. Hope is a patient seed. The ideas born of hope are the leaves and flowers of that seed. Hope deferred allows all of us to see a better future for our children and their children. Hope is for the dreamers and those who are dreamed of.

Proverbs 11: 17
“When you’re kind to others, you help yourself; when you’re cruel to others, you hurt yourself.”
How many times have we heard ‘be nice?”
We have to learn to ‘be nice’ just for the sake of being nice. We often do things expecting something in return, even demanding it! We get very uptight if our expectations are not met. I know I am not the only one like this.
This Wisdom, states a result, your kindness to others, helps you. Now if I was the self-enlightenment type I would think this is just the greatest thing since sliced bread. All I have to do is ‘be nice’ and I get helped in return…. that is easy. Right?
If it was easy, we wouldn’t have that expectation of return, would we?
I guess I, we have to keep practicing. Be nice.

Psalms 40: 17
" And me? I’m a mess. I’m nothing and have nothing: make something of me. You can do it; you’ve got what it takes— but God, don’t put it off."
There are times in each of our lives when we have to admit that we are a mess. We don’t know what to do, where to go, who to ask, what to look for. Wisdom has abandoned us. The silence at the end of our prayers is driving us mad. We scream and yell and cry until we have no more tears to shed and still beg for help. Yep, sometimes we are a mess and the help we need is in the ‘right now’. The song writer here asks God not to put off his present help. There is trust and hope and honesty in this song. There is a standing naked in front of the storm and saying ‘is this all you got’??!!
The song writer asks God to come on down. Do what needs to be done with me.
There is a trick. The writer was ready for God to come.
When you pray this prayer be sure you are ready.

Proverbs 9: 4, 6 (MSG)
“Are you confused about life, don’t know what’s going on? Come with me, oh come, have dinner with me! Leave your impoverished confusion and live! Walk up the street to a life with meaning.”

The invitation to dinner with Wisdom goes out to everyone in the street. It does not discriminate and say you can only come if you are…..or you can only come in if you have…….or you are only invited if you bring……
Wisdom offers us, each of us, the finest wine, the choicest cuts and the sweetest fruit. If you come hungry you will leave more that satisfied and find yourself invited to return as often as you wish.
Confused? Come and eat. Lonely? Come and eat. Fearful? Come and eat. Grieving? Come and eat. There is something for everyone at Wisdoms' table.
Oh yeah, did I mention that there is no kid’s table? From the youngest to the oldest, every person in the sound of Her calling voice is invited to sit at the table and dine.
