The Lieberman-Mitzner Center welcomed social media influencers and Jewish advocates Shabbos Kestenbaum and Lizzy Savetsky to campus earlier this month for a fireside chat about how young people can advocate for Jews and Israel, especially following October 7.
The conversation - attended by over 50 students - was moderated by Lieberman-Mitzner scholars Maytal Nelson '28SB and Daniella Landau '27SCW, where they spoke to the guests about a range of topics including their journeys to advocacy, pushback they've received, practical actions to fight back, the responsibility of this generation.
Reflecting on the conversation, Landau shared, "I was inspired by how they focused on Jewish pride, education and awareness rather than trying to change hateful antisemities. I appreciated that they expressed that each Jew has to be proud and fight antisemitism in their own way with their own talents and on their own level."
Thank you Shabbos and Lizzy Savetsky for coming to campus and sharing your insights and advice with our students!
Stay tuned for more upcoming LM Center events and news on social media !

๐ค Shabbos Kestenbaum is a Jewish activist and commentator best known for his advocacy against antisemitism, particularly on college campuses. A Harvard Divinity School graduate and former Hillel president, he rose to national prominence after becoming a lead plaintiff in a lawsuit against Harvard University, alleging failure to protect Jewish students from antisemitic harassment. Since then, he has testified before Congress, spoken internationally, and appeared frequently in the media, positioning himself as a leading young voice on Jewish identity, campus culture, and Israel-related issues.
๐ค Lizzy Savetsky is a social media influencer, public speaker, and Jewish activist known for her outspoken advocacy around antisemitism, Jewish identity, and support for Israel. Originally a fashion and lifestyle influencer, she shifted her platform toward education and activism, building a large following through personal storytelling and political commentary. She gained broader public attention in 2022 after briefly joiningโand then exitingโthe cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, citing antisemitic backlash, and continues to be a prominent voice in online Jewish advocacy spaces.
