✨CEC13 Turkey Drive Recap — Community in Action✨

This season, .13_bklyn District 13 truly showed the power of coming together. Our CEC13 Turkey Drive was a beautiful reminder that when we unite, families across our district feel supported, seen, and cared for. 🧡🦃

Here’s a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it possible:

🙏 Thank you Council Member
For generously donating turkeys and produce to Fort Greene Prep, PS 287, MS 113, and PS 307, and for going even further by sponsoring dinner and transportation for 19 families at PS 67. Your support made a real impact.

🙏 Thank you Council Member
For stepping in to support multiple additional schools in District 13. We appreciate your dedication to our families.

🧡 Deep gratitude to Josie & Joseph Lysius of the Dima Lysius Team
Your turkey donations supported families at PS 44 and PS 3, bringing comfort to households in need.

🙌 Support for Arts & Letters / 492
Thank you for the donation of dry goods, produce, and turkeys through an elected official partnership. Your continued outreach strengthens our district.

💛 A special shoutout to Michaella Blissett Williams
Thank you for donating toys and supporting our families this season. Your generosity extended far beyond the Turkey Drive.

🧡 Ben Furnas & Alternatives
Thank you for sponsoring a beautiful Friendsgiving Dinner for the staff of PS 44. Your partnership means so much to our educators.

District 13 is strongest when we stand together.
Thank you to every partner, parent, school leader, volunteer, and neighbor who helped make this year’s Turkey Drive a success. 🧡✨
Together, we continue to uplift, nourish, and empower our community.

On behalf of Community Education Council District 13 (CEC13) and Jump-In Enrichment, we are pleased to invite you, your students, parents, and staff to the 2025 Youth Mental Health Empowerment Summit on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM, hosted at the Central Brooklyn Public Library – Dr. S. Stevan Dweck Cultural Center, located at 10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY 11238.

Why This Summit Matters

According to New York City’s first-ever State of Mental Health of New Yorkers Report (2025) and the 2024 NYC Teen Mental Health Survey:
• 48% of NYC teens reported depressive symptoms ranging from mild to severe.
• Nearly 1 in 4 teens reported feeling persistent worry about their future.
• The City has launched 16 school-based mental health clinics, serving more than 6,000 students in Central Brooklyn and the Bronx.

These findings highlight the urgent need for strong, coordinated school and community support systems. As educators and community advocates, our engagement is essential.

About the Summit

This important event will bring together council members, mental health professionals, educators, and youth advocates to:
• Share evidence-based strategies for supporting mental wellness
• Discuss early intervention and crisis-prevention practices
• Provide resources for strengthening school-based supports
• Facilitate meaningful discussion about improving mental health outcomes for our youth
