Does Math = Pain - Fun x Fear + Suffering @ 100% of the time?

Vince Lombardi, one of the greatest football coaches of all time, would begin each of his speeches with the same five words: “Gentlemen, this is a football.”

It was his goal to take his expert players to the very fundamentals of the game.

Coaching math is very similar.

It’s definitely a tough subject and one that demands a clear understanding of the basic rules.

Sadly, our educational system is not able to address the unique needs of the individual student, and many end up getting lost as the problems become more complicated.

With a good coach however, (one who can help get the mathlete past the emotion and self-doubt) we can begin to strengthen the structural fundamentals of their understanding of the subject.

Once we get the basics in place a tremendous amount of innate freedom, confidence and power is released.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is math.
