CDP: Collaborative Development, Production Taking new works of musical theatre to the next level with collaborative development and production.

The Collaborative Development Production (CDP) program is a writer focused initiative which aims to help graduates of the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program bridge the gap between staged readings and full productions. The goal is to create an environment where undergraduate actors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts can work together with the writers to experiment with a piece on its feet fo

r the first time. This year, the collaboration has expanded between the creative team and writers to a year long process starting with conversations about rewrites in the fall, a reading in the spring, and culminating in this summer workshop production. All of these steps are collaborations between current students and alumni from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in hopes of fostering deeper collaboration between all of the departments and studios at NYU as well as championing a safe and productive space for new work to grow and blossom. The CDP Program is sponsored and housed by the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program and made possible by a generous grant from the Frederick Loewe Foundation.
