Today, one of our students cashed in her Bear Bucks to become “Principal for the Day!” She spent the day visiting classrooms, helping teachers and students, making announcements, and assisting during our Career Day assembly. She showed what it means to be a true BEAR by being Brave, Engaged, Accountable, Respectful, and Supportive throughout the entire day.

Today was Career Day at PS2! Thank you to everyone who came to speak, especially the parents and family members who shared about their careers with our students. We loved learning about so many different jobs and experiences. So many more photos to come!

Today, another student cashed in their BEAR Bucks reward to be Principal for the Day! 🐻⭐ They visited classrooms, checked on students and staff, and even stopped by the 5th Grade Museum. Great job showing what it means to be Brave, Engaged, Accountable, Respectful, and Supportive!

Today our 5th graders proudly presented their Natural Wonders Museum projects! Students showcased their research, and creativity while teaching visitors about incredible wonders of the world. We are so proud of their hard work and the way they demonstrated what it means to be BEARS: Brave, Engaged, Accountable, Respectful, and Supportive! 🐻🌎✨

The second grade students had an exciting trip to the New York Transit Museum, where they explored vintage subway cars and learned about the history of transportation in New York City. Students enjoyed interactive exhibits and had fun discovering how trains and buses have changed over time.

Our two classes had an exciting trip to the New York Aquarium where students explored marine life and learned about ocean animals and habitats. Everyone enjoyed seeing the sharks, sea lions, penguins, and colorful fish while sharing a fun and educational experience together.

Two of our kindergarten classes had a sweet learning experience during their trip to Cold Stone Creamery, where they learned how ice cream is made and mixed with toppings. Students had so much fun exploring different flavors while practicing listening skills, asking questions, and enjoying a hands-on community experience together!

We were excited to welcome Mark Kistler to our school, where he taught students how to turn simple shapes and lines into amazing drawings. His fun and interactive lessons inspired everyone to use their creativity and build confidence as young artists, and even some of the teachers and staff joined in on the drawing fun. Administration surprised students in grades 3–5 with Goldfish crackers to celebrate officially being done with state testing… or should we say “o-fish-ally” done! We are so proud of all their hard work, perseverance, and BEARS behavior throughout the testing season.

Two students cashed in their Bear Bucks for the special opportunity to be Librarian for a Period at PS2! They helped organize books, assist classmates, and keep the library running smoothly while showing what it means to be Brave, Engaged, Accountable, Respectful, and Supportive leaders in our school community.

Last Friday, PS2 was thrilled to welcome Dinoman for an exciting and interactive assembly that brought science and dinosaurs to life! Students had an unforgettable time learning about fossils, prehistoric creatures, planets, and the world of paleontology while showing their BEARS behavior throughout the show.
