The workplace is changing fast. Craig decided to change faster.

As someone responsible for HR strategy across an entire enterprise, waiting on the sidelines wasn't an option.

Meet Danielle!

Before Flatiron, she studied music and information systems, and she is now combining her creative problem-solving with strong technical skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Flask, PostgreSQL, Docker, and modern deployment tools.

She was recently placed with Khaite, a luxury womenswear brand, as an AI Apprentice!

She is actively applying what she has learned in our program to a real work environment and is already making a meaningful impact through her contributions.

Her career trajectory is proof that a non-technical background can be a strength in engineering. Skills like communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability from non-technical fields translate directly into building thoughtful software and working effectively on technical teams.

Inspired by her story? Now is the time to start building the skills that can get you there.

A lot of anxiety comes from uncertainty.

Not knowing what real workplace expectations look like.

Not knowing if your skills will translate.

Not knowing if you are truly ready.

Flatiron's work-integrated programs help bridge that gap by giving students opportunities to apply their skills through practical experience and hands-on learning.

Experience leads to competence. Competence builds confidence.

Every industry is moving. Some faster than others. But the pattern is the same across all of them. The professionals adding AI to their skillset right now are not just keeping up. They are pulling ahead.

The window to be an early mover is still open. The question is whether you walk through it.

“WHY IS NO ONE READY?”

The reality is that many people are trying to enter today’s job market with theory alone, while employers are looking for candidates who can contribute in real-world environments from day one.

That readiness gap is exactly why Flatiron’s work-integrated programs exist.

Our programs are designed to help you build practical experience while you train, develop industry-relevant skills, work on real projects, and learn how to adapt in fast-moving workplaces.

Employers are not just hiring for potential anymore.

They are hiring for readiness.

Most people underestimate how much the environment shapes the engineer. When you are surrounded by experienced professionals, getting real feedback on real work, the growth is not gradual. It accelerates.

You start catching your own mistakes faster. Your code gets cleaner. Your thinking gets sharper. That is not just skill development. That is what separates engineers who plateau from engineers who keep climbing.

New tools don't replace great players. They separate good ones from great ones. The rules haven't changed. The playbook has.
