Nigina always had a passion for technology, but it wasn’t until joining Per Scholas that she made the leap into an IT career. Today, her journey has come full circle as a Teaching Fellow at Per Scholas, where she now supports and inspires the next generation of technologists.

Campus spotlight: Per Scholas Los Angeles 📍

Learners recently connected with professionals from Apollo Opportunity Foundation and Apollo Global Management through resume coaching and mock interviews, gaining valuable career insights and real-world feedback. Even more inspiring was seeing Per Scholas alumni now thriving within the company and giving back to the next generation of technologists.

We are incredibly proud to announce that the NFL‘s Inspire Change initiative has renewed their grant for Per Scholas, continuing our shared mission to break down barriers and advance economic mobility. 🚀

This renewal comes at a historic moment: The NFL just announced that its Inspire Change initiative has officially surpassed half a billion dollars in giving and support nationwide since 2017.

With this renewed funding, Per Scholas will continue providing no-cost, high-quality training and professional development across the nation. Since 2021 we have partnered with the NFL to connect skilled talent and leading businesses, launching life-changing careers in technology.

📍 Per Scholas North Carolina: Learners strengthened their networking and communication skills during a Pitch Carousel with volunteers from Allstate.

📍 Per Scholas Orlando: A new IT Support cohort kicked off, and the campus recently hosted its first-ever Open House, bringing together learners, alumni, and community members.

📍 Per Scholas Houston: Learners participated in a hands-on break-and-fix session and captured professional headshots as they prepare for tech careers.

Germila’s story is a testament to what happens when talent meets opportunity. 🌟

Arriving in the U.S. from Haiti, Germila was working two jobs just to make ends meet. She had the drive and a background in CS, but she needed a bridge to the U.S. tech market. She took a leap of faith, left one of her jobs to attend Per Scholas full-time, and transformed her life.

Today, she is a Data Center Operations Technician L3, trading uncertainty for a clear professional trajectory and long-term stability.
