⭐️Call for Applications from Syrian students in Turkey for Japan University Pathways - September 29 to October 13, 2023⭐️

Ryukoku University in Kyoto, Japan, will recruit two Syrian students who are currently in Turkey to enroll in April 2024.
Students will initially be admitted as non-degree-seeking students in the university's one-year program called the Japanese Culture and Language Program. While they are in this program, they will have the opportunity to take the entrance exam to become degree-seeking students at the university from April 2025 (either as an undergraduate or graduate student). The university will waive tuition for the duration of the degree program.

سيقوم السيد أوري نوريماسا ممثل منظمة باث وايز اليابانية بتقديم الورش التعريفية الخاصة بمنحة دراسة اللغة اليابانية في اليابان (أونلاين) والإجابة على تساؤلات الطلاب واستفساراتهم.

الأحد 21 ٱب / اغسطس من الساعة 11:00 حتى 12:30 صباحا بتوقيت تركيا.

الورشة التعريفية الثالثة:
الأحد 4 أيلول/ سبتمبر من الساعة 11.00 حتى 12.30 صباحا بتوقيت تركيا.

محاور الجلسة:
1- التعريف بالمنحة وشروطها.
2- خطوات التحضير والتقديم على المنحة.
3- التعريف باليابان واللغة اليابانية.
4- الجامعات اليابانية وفحص القبول.

شروط التقديم على المنحة:
• سوري لا يحمل أي جنسية أخرى أو جواز سفر غير السوري.
• أعزب.
• يعيش في تركيا وقادر على تقديم إحدى الوثائق التالية:
- إما إقامة (سياحية، أو عمل).
- أو كيمليك (بطاقة الحماية المؤقته من الحكومة التركية).
• لديه جواز سفر سوري أو قادرا على تقديم طلب لجواز سفر في حال تم قبوله بالمنحة.
( ليس من الضروري وجود جواز سفر ساري المفعول عند التقديم على المنحة. ولكن اذا تم القبول في هذه المنحة فيجب التقديم على جواز سفر سوري).
• قادرا على تقديم إحدى الشهادتين التاليتين:
- إما شهادة الثانوية .
- أو شهادة التخرج الجامعية.
• الموافقة على القيام بعمل جزئي لكسب المصاريف المعيشية.
• لديه الرغبة في دراسة اللغة اليابانية والدراسة في الجامعات اليابانية والتأقلم مع المجتمع الجديد والثقافة المختلفة.
• بالنسبة للمتقدمين ممن أعمارهم 26 أو أقل يكفي أن يكون لديهم شهادة ثانوية ويفضل أن يكون لديهم خبرة في تعلم اللغة اليابانية أما الذين تجاوز عمرهم 26 سنة يجب أن يكون لديهم شهادة جامعية وسبق لهم دراسة اللغة اليابانية.

ملاحظة: سيبدأ التسجيل على المنحة اعتبارا من تاريخ 29 ٱب/أغسطس الحالي وحتى 12 أيلول/ سبتمبر.

Starting this year, JICUF will help fund and administer Pathways Japan's Japanese Language School Pathways Program (JLSP). The JLSP is a two-year program where participants study the Japanese language intensively. We encourage Syrian students in Turkey to apply.

ICU student Sara created a video of a typical day in her life as an international student taking online classes from Turkey. Sara is the recipient of the Syrian Scholars Initiative scholarship, and matriculated at ICU in spring 2021. As she explains in her video, Japan has not been issuing new visas to international students, and many students are struggling with time difference, staying up all night to take classes. We hope that she and others will soon be able to travel to Japan.

The deadline for application for the Syrian Scholars Initiative is this Friday, October 15! Apply online here: jicuf.org/ssi
Thank you to those of you who have already applied.
Even if your English proficiency scores aren't out yet, it is vital that you submit the rest of your application by the deadline. Please see the post below for instructions on what to do if you have taken TOEFL or IELTS recently and are waiting for the result.
The application form will be closed at 11:59pm in Egypt, which is in fact 00:59am on October 16 in Turkey (and 1:59am on October 16 in the UAE.)
