Our new School Leader Dr. Nicole Jones is going to meeting with the Consultants at the Charter School National Conference in Nevada. She will be bringing back an overview of the opening process and announcements for the Lottery.
Dr. Jones has a wealth of experiences in charter schools serving them in Newark and Louisiana.
She is assisted by Founder Dr. Carole Reiss and Executive Director James Pearson . Mr. Pearson has served on several charter school boards in Brooklyn and has worked as the Dean of School Culture for the famed Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem and now in the Bronx.
With the array of diverse experiences of all the Founding team, this school will be able to deliver results that are beyond standard test measurements with an innovative approach to delivering instruction.Teachers think out of the box to help children explore and discover by creating interest and using motivational techniques with the Arts. Sports and Community projects.
The Staten Island Zoo, Staten Island Museum, National Grid, Con Edison, The Lighthouse Museum and The Alice Austin House are adjacent partnered classrooms where students research projects based on content delivered at these organizations. Students learn in a calm democracy where all opinions count. Diversity is the impetus in engaging students curiosity using the world and natural environment that they live in.
Students are taught to respect and work to improve the community to make it a better place for them and their loved ones. That is the the mission of the school as students develop awareness they learn to create economic opportunities that focus on the curriculum standards that they are taught.
Our school is an ethical culture school and we have developed an outreach mission to invite every learner to our school.
