IS THIS TRUE???
MOZAMBIQUE JUST DREW A LINE IN THE SAND.

The President of Mozambique has spoken. Clear. Cold. And without blinking.

If one Mozambican dies on June 30 — there will be consequences. He didn't say maybe. He didn't say possibly. He said WE WILL SHOW THE FRIVOLITY OF THEIR BEHAVIOR.

That is not a press release. That is a warning.

And he is right.

We cannot sit in 2026 and watch African citizens get hunted in African streets by other Africans while presidents look the other way. That era is over. The silence is over.

Mozambique is watching. And Mozambique is not alone.

Every African nation that has buried a son or daughter because of xenophobic violence in South Africa is watching that June 30 deadline. Every government that has had to call back its citizens in shame is watching.

The marchers thought nobody would respond. They thought Africa would just absorb the pain like it always has.

They were wrong.

Africa is not the same continent it was ten years ago. Leaders are standing up. People are standing up. And now — presidents are standing up.

June 30 is not just a deadline for foreigners. It is a test for South Africa. Will it be a country that protects all people on its soil — or will it show the world what it really thinks of its African brothers and sisters?

The whole continent is waiting for the answer.

Unethical, unprincipled! - ZANU PF's Chinamasa says misguided Chivayo soiling the President's reputation

BRICKBATS continue to fall on controversial businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, from ZANU PF over his US$3.6 million pledge to Parliament, which the party’s treasurer, Patrick Chinamasa, has described as an attempt to soil President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s reputation.

Chivayo had initially proposed the donation to the 360 legislators, with each receiving US$10,000.

The move drew the ire of the ZANU PF Youth League, with its deputy secretary, John Paradza, criticising Chivayo’s donation as a move to influence an arm of the government.

Chinamasa has also come out accusing Chivayo of bringing the ruling party andmMnangagwa into disrepute over his donation.

“I stand solidly behind, and in full support of, the statement just issued on behalf of the Zanupf Youth League by Honourable Cde John Paradza, Member of Parliament for Gutu West and Deputy Secretary of Youth Affairs of the Revolutionary Mass Party Zanupf, castigating the announced donation of usd$3,6million by Sir Wicknell Chivhayo to Parliamentarians on the eve of a historic amendment of our National Constitution.

“I totally agree that the proposed donation is misguided, ill advised, ill conceived, uncalled for, and a brazen but futile attempt to put our President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, our State Institutions, and the entire Parliamentary and Government Leadership and System into disrepute,” said Chinamasa.

Chivayo’s initial proposal was viewed by political observers as a move to sway Parliament as it is set to receive the Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 soon.

The bill seeks to extend the tenure of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Parliament and Council, thereby suspending elections which are due in 2028.

Chivayo has since reversed his proposal but has upped his donation to provinces with a pledge of US$5 million, with each getting US$500,000.

“The announced donation can only be interpreted by right thinking men and women as a base, unethical, unprincipled, and unnecessary attempt to influence the outcome of the ongoing debate on CAB3.

“The Zanupf Youth League is ideologically correct and, with Youths of this ideological clarity, I can safely say that the Country and Zanupf are in safe political hands.

“And let it be said, and loudly so, that CAB3 will receive the overwhelming support of both Houses of Parliament (i.e. the National Assembly and the Senate) because Zanupf Members of Parliament will vote according to the dictates of the Zanupf Party in compliance with the Bulawayo and Mutare Zanupf Annual People’s Conference Resolutions, and also purely on its own merits,” he said. - NewZimbabwe

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT….

I have taken note with KEEN INTEREST and some element of SURPRISE, various statements and reactions circulating across social media and other platforms, including the press statement issued by the ZANU-PF Youth League, attributed my brother CDE JOHN PARADZA. I have also noted the sentiments expressed by HON. KUNDISHORA and other respected Party Cdes whom I hold in very high regard. Given the PUBLIC INTEREST around my pledge of USD3.6 MILLION to support CONSTITUENCY DEVELOPMENT through Parliament, I have seen it fit to CLARIFY the matter with a view to SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT.

Firstly, I am NOT a POLITICIAN and I do not aspire to become one. NEVER !! I am a YOUNG, successful businessman who celebrates the VAST business opportunities that have been created by the SECOND REPUBLIC under the visionary leadership of H.E. Cde. E. D. Mnangagwa. The IMPRESSIVE success of the RULING PARTY is a fulfilment of what the GALLANT sons and daughters of Zimbabwe fought for to attain political and ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE. My pledge to Parliament was therefore made in GOOD FAITH and with the GENUINE intention of celebrating Zimbabwe’s 46th INDEPENDENCE in a UNIQUE manner befitting any PATRIOTIC citizen. There was NEVER any intention whatsoever for that gesture to be misconstrued or sensationalised as an attempt to create PARALLEL STRUCTURES or to influence the AUGUST HOUSE for any actual or perceived outcome.

Secondly, and for the AVOIDANCE OF any DOUBT, I am a PHILANTHROPIST who has over the past 3 YEARS alone spent in excess of USD200 MILLION across Zimbabwe and the African continent on CHARITY and other humanitarian work. I am also a VERY PROUD and UNAPOLOGETIC supporter of the REVOLUTIONARY COLOSSAL PARTY, ZANU-PF, and of our FIRST SECRETARY and PRESIDENT. I recognise that I carry a MORAL DUTY, as part of the PRIVATE SECTOR, to contribute meaningfully towards NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT and to AUGMENT Government’s socio-economic transformation agenda as embodied under VISION 2030. My pledge to Parliament, just as to any other organisation or individuals, was therefore purely DEVELOPMENTAL in nature and NEVER political.

HOWEVER, upon FULL REFLECTION and having carefully considered the concerns raised by my fellow comrades, particularly Hon. Kundishora and Cde Paradza, and giving due regard to and RESPECT for their APPOINTING AUTHORITY, I acknowledge that my approach, though WELL-INTENDED, may not have fully appreciated certain institutional SENSITIVITIES. As a POLITICAL NOVICE, I acknowledge that there are STRUCTURES and PROTOCOLS which perhaps I ought to have observed and consulted. In HINDSIGHT, I recognise that the CHANNEL through which the pledge was communicated was probably not the BEST and I could have given better consideration to the TIMING of my pledge. For that REASON, and for the UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES that may have resulted from my WELL-INTENDED pledge, I express my DEEPEST REGRET.

At the same time, I remain of the considered view that as COMRADES within the same revolutionary RULING PARTY, such matters are best addressed through INTERNAL DIALOGUE. Nothing would have prevented a direct conversation to GUIDE and CORRECT me where necessary, particularly given my NON-INVOLVEMENT in day-to-day PARTY STRUCTURES. Nonetheless, I have LISTENED…… I have REFLECTED…and I have taken GUIDANCE in the spirit of UNITY and DISCIPLINE as our PARTY IDEOLOGY dictates to us. I therefore UNRESERVEDLY RETRACT my initial pledge directed towards Parliament.

In the same breath however, and still guided by my COMMITMENT and to the transformative SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTAL agenda of the SECOND REPUBLIC, I am pleased to announce that I have REFINED my position and now extend a REVISED PLEDGE of USD5 MILLION, subject to further consultation with the APPROPRIATE PARTY STRUCTURES. This support can be channelled through PROVINCIAL CHAIRPERSONS as USD500,000 across each of the Country’s 10 Provinces in order to drive GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT initiatives that directly benefit our communities. As a young businessman, I will continue to support the RULING PARTY and GOVERNMENT initiatives under the visionary leadership of President E. D. Mnangagwa. Zimbabwe is OURS to BUILD, and I will continue to play my part UNAPOLOGETICALLY !!!

Finally, I wish to extend my SINCERE and UNRESERVED REGRET to the AUGUST HOUSE, the SPEAKER OF PARLIAMENT, Honourable Members, the CLERK OF PARLIAMENT, the ZANU-PF YOUTH LEAGUE for any discomfort or misunderstanding that may have arisen from my pledge. My RESPECT for PARTY leadership and all the STRUCTURES remains unquestionable. Ndiri mwana weMUSANGANO, ndicharamba ndichi supporter MUSANGANO under the leadership of our PRESIDENT. Let us move forward in UNITY, as we collectively BUILD a PROSPEROUS ZIMBABWE and realise the aspirations of VISION 2030.

SA returns human remains, sacred carving to Zimbabwe
South Africa on Tuesday handed back to Zimbabwe ancestral human remains and a centuries-old stone carving of its sacred national emblem, the Zimbabwe bird, taken more than 100 years ago during the colonial era.The restitution was part of a worldwide push for artefacts looted from African countries during the colonial era to be repatriated.

Eight coffins draped in the Zimbabwean flag stood at an event for the handover in a Cape Town museum and attended by officials from both countries.

Little was known about the human remains except that they had been unethically exhumed for research, officials said.

Once back in Zimbabwe, they would be further studied and returned to "where they belong", Zimbabwean government representative Reverend Paul Damasane said.

The soapstone carving of a Zimbabwe bird was the first of several looted from the stone ruins of the ancient complex of Great Zimbabwe, built in the 11th to 13th centuries, officials said.

A British explorer had ripped it from its pedestal in the late 19th-century and sold it to British mining magnate Cecil John Rhodes, 1890-1896, prime minister of the Cape Colony.

Nearly "140 years since the first one was taken and sold to Cecil John Rhodes, that very same statue ... is finally making its journey home," South Africa's culture ministry said.

The others that had been in South Africa were returned the year following the former British colony's independence in 1980, officials said.

The original birds are around 33 centimetres in height and most were perched on stone columns more than a metre high.

They are the national emblem of Zimbabwe, depicted on banknotes, coins and the national flag.

They are also sacred because of a belief that they carry a protective spirit.
