On August 29, 1993, I arrived in NYC from good ole Delaware. Which made last week my 20 year New York Birthday. Wow!

To kick off that 20th year right, I'm announcing that my big giant show Plasticland: A Better Place is officially on. (holy crap) That's right - no more workshops, residencies or work-in-progresses. It's Showtime! We have a theater - the newly renovated and oh-so-sexy 14th Street Y. We have the show dates booked - November 13-17. We have started building and shaping. Hell, there is even a G-D script - if you can believe that! Plasticland is a-coming.

I, humbly, come to you - with hat in hand - to help me raise money to produce my very ambitious one-woman show (kinda) about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, Plasticland: A Better Place.

I have genius designers to pay, a theater to rent and magic to make, people! Since I had such a profitable and good time with my last fundraiser....you may remember The 100 twenties(20s)...
I thought we would try it again. Of course, we have to raise the bar this time around because geniuses don't come cheap.

So, the Plasticland crew and I are looking for (at least) 100 brave and generous people to donate fifty bucks ($50) to the cause of art and friendship! You got it. We need 100 Fifties by September 30.

And I'm calling every 50 I get "A Grant" Firstly, because Ulysses S. Grant is on it. And B. Well - (not to get overly sentimental) Each 50 dollars you give me is far more significant than any grant from a big important foundation or rich benefactor. Because with each Grant I get from you, you guys are putting your own personal faith in me that I will make your hard-earned 50 bucks sing, turn cartwheels and make magic. You are personally granting me the chance and giving me the freedom to make something weird, wonderful and unexpected. I don't take that lightly. I respect your support and your Fifty bucks.

Here's to laying it on thick!
Your least subtle friend and art maker,
Kym Bernazky (who thanks you forever and ever)
and
our very special guest, Mr. Grant
