Yesterday the most amazing thing happened... Let me set the stage or context for sharing. As most of you know, I have a non-profit called WISH Mindset. The acronym means Woman In Service to Herself Mindset. The notion behind WISH that is that, it is high time that we (women) put ourselves first.

We dream about the dream but we are too busy taking care of others to take care of ourselves. We sometimes feel unfulfilled. Well WISH Mindset urges us to make that paradigm shift to "Make the dream your reality." Or in my case, I am making the dream "MY" reality.

What has long been my dream? My dream has been to serve women and girls, which I have been doing most of my adult life but I made it official with my 501c3 in 2019.
Lo and behold, covid struck and by January of 2020, most businesses, except for the most essential ones, either floundered or ground to a halt. I pivoted and I sent 20 tablets and computers to help as many kids as I could.
I only managed to get in 3 events that year. 2 in Manhattan at the UFT HQ and one in conjunction with Jamaica Teachers Association where I presented Human Trafficking workshops from Kinston to Montego Bay. I presented at many schools. My proudest moment though, was when I presented at MAHS to over 1000 young ladies in shifts.

Ok Judith Hall, enough of the preamble. Today I hold the keys to my first Brick & Mortar 501c3 office in Lauderhill Florida! I am very excited. I will be renting out the space hourly to be able to help women and girls. In September, I did 2 scholarships in Jamaica. I paid for boarding for one young lady I have been helping since 2019 and I paid for tuition and books for a 6th former in her final year at MAHS who would not have been able to return for her final year. I have over the course of 2 years helped with tuition at MBCC for another young lady.
Giving is it's own reward. "It blesseth who gives and who takes."

What else will be happening in the space? Well, on a Wed morning from 10-12 noon, I will be hosting a "safe space" for women who want to come in and write for a bit. Whether it is journaling or actually writing a book or me doing a bit of coaching, I am there for it.

Ok, so since I laid my mom to rest in December, I have been contemplating my life and my desire to draw closer to GOD who has wrought so many miracles in my life.

You will have to wait for the autobio to hear about said miracles. I learned how to care for my community from my mom. It was also her desire to see me begin my walk with God. She always told me, along with my big sister Joan, that God is waiting to open up the windows of heaven to pour me out blessings that I won't have room to receive.
I am here for it to pour it right back out in the community so we can be stronger together.

So, I did a business warming registry, and sent the link out to my family and friends and the result has been great. Thanks for everyone who has contributed.
This brings me to the amazing thing that happened. I was thinking that I needed a desk for the office. It was on the registry
but no one had bought it and since I am opening my doors on Nov 1st, I needed my desk. I decided that I needed to buy it. I prayed about it and kept thinking about it. I opened my door yesterday afternoon and there it was leaning against the wall! But what surprised me was that it was from someone I do not know from Tennessee! I thought, Look at God! Always providing for me! He was showing me that he heard me and answers prayers. Insignificant little me! But, he does not see me that way. Thank you God!
I also want to thank my husband who made it possible, by his generosity for me to be in the space.

Happy Emancipendence to all Jamaicans dung a yard and abroad! I would be remiss and out of context if I didn't pay special attention to my ladies and girls. I am taking your pulse on how well you/we are feeling today?
From last year this time to today, have your confidence and self-esteem grown or taken a beating?

Today I am a 5 on a scale of 1-10.

What did you do or what are you doing to mitigate that? From last year to this year, I lost my queen mother Daphne May Messam-Brown. I couldn't write about it here. It felt too personal and talking about it here would make it more real to me. I laid my mom to rest in January of this year and I have felt unplugged and eviscerated ever since.

Three Milestones have passed since she has been gone; her first birthday anniversary around the throne of God, her 91st birthday on July 28th, her 90th birthday bash last year and she is missing her first Independence Day celebration.

It is weird how the passing of my mother seems to have loosened the bonds of family. Has that happened to anyone else? We do not have a row or anything but we just do not speak as often as we used to well except to my big sister Joan. She still has not been back to the house since the funeral. She cannot face it.
Anyway guys! Enjoy your day. I was in Miramar yesterday at the Olde Time Emancipendence Faire and it was an amazing day! It was super-well organized and well-decorated. Why do Miramar residents seem so happy?!

I think mayor Wayne Messam has a lot to do with that. All I could think about was that he is "A man of the people". When the head of the stream provides an excellent example people follow suit.

The food trucks provided delicious meals too. The kids water park was open too. There was not one single negative event that transpired. I got my free bag of fruits and vegetables too.
I will definitely go next year as long as I am able to.
