Let’s talk speech delays in young children 💬👶
It’s one of the most common challenges little ones face — and it can happen for many reasons, like:
• Hearing differences
• Limited exposure to language
• Developmental delays
• Oral-motor challenges
• Frequent ear infections
• Premature birth
• Difficulty processing sounds
• Social or environmental factors
While it’s completely normal for some children to start talking a little later, it’s important to recognize when a child may need extra support.
💙 Our SLPs are here to help every child find their voice.

If you’ve ever had these questions — you’re not alone. Let’s break down the Top 5 misconceptions about Early Intervention 👇
❌ “It’s only for severe cases.”
Not at all. Early Intervention isn’t just for children with a diagnosis — it’s for any child who may need support, even in one area like feeding, communication, or motor skills.
❌ “It’s just for older kids.”
Actually, the earlier the better. Early Intervention supports children from birth to age 3, when development is most flexible and responsive.
❌ “It’s too expensive.”
In New York, Early Intervention is a free state program for eligible children.
❌ “It’s only available in clinics.”
Nope! With White Glove Early Intervention, services are often provided right in your home — making it easy and convenient for families.
❌ “Let’s just wait and see.”
When in doubt, check it out. Evaluations are there to guide you — and early support can make a lasting difference.

The palate plays a big role in how sounds are made and how air flows during speech. When a baby has a cleft palate, the mouth and nose can’t fully separate, which can make some sounds harder and speech less clear.
But here’s the encouraging part — support can make a big difference.
1️⃣ Feeding therapy can help
White Glove Feeding Therapy Specialists can support babies who have difficulty feeding due to the cleft.
2️⃣ Early speech therapy makes a difference
Speech therapy helps children build clearer sounds and stronger communication as they grow.
Not sure what support your baby may need?
💙 White Glove Early Intervention is here to help. Reach out for a consultation and we’ll help guide you through the next steps.
