Dearest friends of Baltic Student Organisation,
we are currently looking for volunteers to help us properly represent the Baltic region at the UWEC International Folk Fair, which will take place on April 30.
We won't make you do the boring paperwork; we are looking for cool people to organise activities and spread the word about Baltics here in 'Merica!
It will be fun, you will learn about our culture and we will make tasty Latvian food together!
Message us here or have a reason to contact Liene, Elīna, Anete or Santa. We look forward to working with you!

Today, Latvia celebrates the Lāčplēsis’ Day – the victory of the Latvian Army over the West Russian Volunteer Army under the lead of Pavel Bermondt-Avalov on 11 November 1919, when Latvian soldiers heroically defended Riga thereby safeguarding the independence of the Republic of Latvia.
On this day, we must also not forget the note issued on 11 November 1918 by Arthur James Balfour, the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on granting provisional recognition to the Latvian National Council as a de facto independent body, until a decision could be made at the Peace Conference. This was an invaluable support for the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia on 18 November 1918.
