Where are the trusted digital spaces that support public education online?

Far too often, the answer is nowhere. As digital technologies reshape how societies learn, work and interact, the absence of reliable and inclusive public digital learning platforms risks deepening inequalities and leaving millions without access to quality learning opportunities.

Yet this trajectory is not inevitable. Around the world, education systems are beginning to develop public digital learning platforms that complement classroom teaching and strengthen the connection between online and offline learning.

On the International Day for Digital Learning, UNESCO, UNICEF and ITU are launching the Charter for Public Digital Learning Platforms, a roadmap to help governments and partners design and develop digital commons for education, ensuring that digital innovation serves education as a human right and a public good.
