โจ๐ Building Stronger Literacy Practices Together! ๐โจ
PS 349, facilitated by by Laura Cobos, District 28 MESA, recently hosted an intervisitation focused on Literacy Instruction and Considerations for Multilingual Learners, welcoming teachers and leaders from PS 206 and PS 175.
Through classroom visits and collaborative discussions, educators shared strategies and reflected on practices that support multilingual learners in accessing meaningful and rigorous literacy experiences.

Talented students, from Ms. Zidelโs grade 3, will be published artists! Their work has been selected for the Food Friends publication ๐โa fullโcolor book featuring student artwork from schools across the United States ๐บ๐ธ๐.
The book will be released on August 31, 2026 ๐๏ธ.

Congratulations to the student artist and their Art Teacher, Julia Baroni.
Each year, P.S. Art recognizes outstanding student artwork from PreโKโ12 through a citywide juried selection process, exhibition, and catalog. The winning work will be recognized at the P.S. Art Opening Reception at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on June 9. ๐๐ผ๐จ

๐.๐คDistrict 28 principals attended the District 28 Principal Legislative Breakfast at York College, hosted by CEC 28 . The event provided an opportunity for school leaders to engage with elected officials and education leadership. Councilwoman Lynn Schulman, Senator Leroy Comrie, and NYCPS Deputy Chancellor Danielle Giunta delivered remarks on key public education priorities ๐ค๐.

๐ญ ๐ฎ๐ด As part of the district arts grant, students and teachers at Q303 completed a dance residency in Indian dance with Ajna Dance Company. The program offers students an in-depth exploration of Indian dance and culture. Designed to build confidence, creativity, and cultural awareness, these multi-week programs provide a joyful and enriching experience that supports both artistic and academic learning. ๐ฎ๐ด ๐ญ
