Reimagine Resilience is now featured on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s TVTP Grantee Results website! Reimagine Resilience is an innovative professional training program designed for educators and education professionals to prevent violent expression by nurturing resilience as an integral capacity in their students. We have trained over 2,100 educators and key stakeholders with registrants coming from 47 U.S. states. 💡Educational Displacement - a risk factor for radicalization?
💡Youth who radicalize often first experience Educational Displacement in school. They might feel a loss of attachment to or recognition by teachers, peers, colleagues, community members, and society. Out of 300 students we surveyed across 40 states, only 40% agreed they feel a sense of belonging in their school.
🔸 What does it mean to have a "sense of belonging"? Why is it important?
A "sense of belonging" is an attachment to one's community, peers, colleagues, and society, preventing isolation and educational displacement. A sense of belonging is a protective factor in preventing hate.
