Last week, our MS343 girls’ softball team braved the cold (some in short sleeves!) and dominated Mott Haven with a 14–3 victory! 💪🔥

Shoutout to our softball stars: 💥 Amaya – crushed a home run and held it down behind the plate as catcher
💪 Angelina – kicked off our offense with a 2 RBI hit to get us rolling
🔥 Mariah – pitched like a pro and made some key defensive plays
🧤 Mia – our rock at first base, locking it down on defense

MS343 took a trip to Hunter College, and let’s just say—it might’ve been our best college visit yet! 🏫✨

The 343 MSK girls joined young women from across the state for the launch of NYSED My Sister’s Keeper (MSK)—a powerful statewide organization celebrating girls’ leadership, education, and community. 💜

We were honored to hear from incredible speakers, including Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, Commissioner of Education Dr. Betty Rosa, and Chancellor Melissa Avilés-Ramos, who inspired us with their wisdom and passion.

Our girls proudly posed with District 7 Superintendent Dr. Roberto Padilla, Dr. Betty Rosa, and Dr. Roshone Ault, the visionary founder of MSK. Plus, Kira had the chance to meet two amazing student panelists who truly inspired her! 💫

We also had the pleasure of capturing a moment with Dr. Framing Vega Ferrer from the NYS Board of Regents 12th Judicial District.

It was a day filled with learning, connection, and inspiration—just the beginning of the incredible journey ahead for our MSK girls! 💪🏽📚

🎓 MS343 Visits City College! 🎓

Last week, select 7th and 8th graders got an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of City College with Mx. D and Mr. Roy, one of City College’s own amazing alumni! 👏🏽

Students explored the campus, library, dorms, and sports facilities while asking questions about college life. It was an inspiring day, opening doors to future possibilities!

💬One student shared, “Walking through the campus made me realize that college isn’t just something far away—it’s something I can actually do.”

Our girls battled hard and took down Bronx Letters last week with an 18-10 victory! 💪 The whole team hustled, pulled their weight, and got the job done.

But now, it’s time for the game we’ve been waiting for… TODAY, we face 361 at home. Last time, they beat us by just 1 point. This time, we’re ready. Let’s make a statement. 🏆

Our boys came out strong and never let up, taking down MS298 in a commanding performance! We were up by 30, and Mason was unstoppable, dropping 27 points and scoring in both the first and second quarters to seal the deal.

MS 343 competed at the Manhattan College Invitational Cross Country Meet this weekend with schools from all over the Tri-State area! Our very own Damian Oquendo placed in the top 50 boys, receiving a top runner medal!

We look forward to another successful cross country meet this Thursday at Van Cortlandt Park!

🎉🏐 MS343 Girls Volleyball Team Wins Big! 🏐🎉

Our girls kicked off the season with an amazing victory this Tuesday, winning both sets: 25-15 and 25-20! Shout out to Amaya Allende, Aisha Wague, and Julissa Vega for racking up the points! Special recognition to Amaya, who Coach Cooper called a super star 🌟 for her outstanding performance!
