🕯️ Tonight, we honor a fighter. A builder. A woman who always stood for something—and made things happen for kids.

Jean Schutt-McTavish shaped lives, institutions, and movements with courage, integrity, and deep humanity. From transforming West Side High School into a refuge and launchpad for young people others had written off, to championing student wellness, restorative justice, and dignity in education—Jean never led from a distance. She showed up. 💪🏽📚

At HS Cred and the Academic Capital Foundation, Jean was an early thought partner, culture-shaper, and truth-teller. As our “Anthropologist in Residence,” she ensured our mission, vision, and values were lived—not just written. She believed fiercely in students’ leadership, in learning rooted in trust, and in systems built with integrity. 🌱✨

Jean’s legacy lives on in every student given a second chance, every educator who leads with values, and every space where humanity comes before metrics. We miss you deeply, Jean—but your impact is everywhere. ❤️

🕊️ In gratitude and remembrance.
