Hello Community 🌈 In 2026, A Big Gay Market is excited to announce our inaugural A Big Gay Advisory Council!

🧡A Big Gay Advisory Council are members of the A Big Gay Market community dedicated to assisting in building a sustainable and lasting foundation for its markets and creative community programming. As an Advisory Council Member, you will become a steward and driving force behind A Big Gay Market and our trajectory for years to come!

💜This is a volunteer role within A Big Gay Market, but with some additional perks. Those who apply who are vendors will receive waived vendor applications for all larger markets - April and July in Washington Park - Knox St Mall in Albany and October and December at Washington Park Lake House in Albany. Those who are supporters who apply will receive waived access to all ticketed special events at our markets and paid for breakfast and lunch at all markets worked at.

🩵 The best candidate to join our Advisory Council is 16+ and is curious about how to build and create a sustainable foundation for an organization rooted in the q***r+ gender expansive creative economy. You are someone who wants to both learn and also share your unique skills to be a leader and force within the A Big Gay Market community.

✅ Applications are OPEN until 3/1! This is a year long commitment, with the ability to renew at the end of your term. There are only 12 slots available!

COMMUNITY ASK: School Project!

Looking for LGBTQ+ community members who witnessed historical events and have stories to tell school kids.

I am helping a school set up a Gender & Sexuality Alliance for (Grades: 5, 6, 7,). One of the first things they requested to learn about is LGBTQ+ History. We are starting with primary sources AKA the world around us; before we start researching things. Would you be interested in speaking to a group of kids?

We have a bunch of events happening in the coming week, starting with Transgender Day of Remembrance next Monday, and ending with a post Thanksgiving community gathering and a chance to decompress for those who need it! Please squint at the pictures or use these links for more details! 😁
