Program Highlight: Game Making with Scratch
In this fun and creative class, our 3rd–5th grade students are learning the fundamentals of programming while building their own games using Scratch!
Students learn beginner programming concepts like loops, conditionals, and variables—and apply them right away in games they can actually play and share! We also spend time exploring and analyzing the design and architecture of games from other creators to spark new ideas.
Take a look at their latest project—a space shooter game inspired by popular Scratch creator, Griffpatch. One of the standout features students added was friction, making the movement feel fluid and responsive.

Here’s a recap of what we did this past school year. We ran 40+ exciting after-school STEM classes across 6 NYC schools — from LEGO robotics to AI with Scratch, and even Minecraft-powered history and architecture!
