Based on 2015 research from the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP, over 30 million caregivers provided care to an adult age 50 or older in the prior 12 months.

The caregiving role is vital to families and we recognize its importance. Our website lists four stages of caregiving and where it is most helpful to support your loved one with their end-of-life plan. Learn more about the way our ELDR's can support caregivers here: https://buff.ly/3P4146e

According to the Conversation Project National Survey, 92% of people say advance care planning is important, but only 32% actually do it.

While there are a number of free and paid apps, books, and webinars that provide education and planning tools, we can all benefit from the personal connection and accountability of conveniently scheduled one-on-one conversations with an ELDR to ensure that we get our unique needs met, that we follow up on the necessary actions, and that we button up our planning without lingering loose ends.

The World Health Organization cites, "Each year, an estimated 56.8 million people, including 25.7 million in the last year of life, are in need of palliative care." But, "Worldwide, only about 14% of people who need palliative care currently receive it."

One part of the low acceptance rate is a lack of palliative care services, but a far larger part is the misunderstanding of what palliative care is and the positive impact it can have on the life of the person receiving it, as well as the family members.

You don't need to know the in's-and-out of palliative care, but our ELDRs do, and they are a great resource for learning more about these important and helpful services and how to plan for them now.
