Regional West’s School of Radiologic Technology students got the chance to visit with Chief Executive Officer of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Liana Watson, DM, RT(R)(M)(S)(BS)(ARRT), RDMS, RVT, PMP, FASRT, CAE. Liana graduated from the School of Radiologic Technology in 1987 and worked as a radiologic technologist, mammography technologist, and sonographer at Regional West until 2012. She spoke highly of the School of Radiologic Technology and encouraged students to be engaged in their profession and open to opportunities.
The ARRT is the credentialing organization for medical imaging professionals worldwide. Every graduate from the School of Radiologic Technology will take the ARRT certification exams upon graduation. Thanks for the visit, Liana!

Travis Prowant MSHS, R.R.A., R.T.(R)(CV)(CT)(ARRT), FASRT received the 2023 Dean’s Outstanding Service Award during the VCU College of Health Professions graduation ceremony last week. Travis is a Registered Radiologist Assistant with the VCU Health Department of Radiology and he is an alumnus of the VCU College of Health Professions Department of Radiation Sciences’ Registered Radiologist Assistant Program.
The Dean’s Outstanding Service Award honors a VCU College of Health Professions alum who has shown outstanding leadership and service within their profession, community, the College, or professional or community organizations leading to the development of others and/or a positive impact within their area of service or field of professional practice.
Travis came to VCU Health after a distinguished 20-year career in the U.S. Navy as a Radiologic Technologist and Chief Petty Officer. He currently serves as a Board Trustee and President of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as well as serving as a committee member of the Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists.
We are fortunate Travis Prowant is a member of our Department and we are VERY PROUD he received this well deserved service award.

Congratulations to our latest Kaskaskia College Radiology graduates. Each graduate passed their American Registry for Radiologic Technologists exam and received the highest scores ever documented in the program!!! This is the third year in a row KC has had a 100% pass rate!

As we close out this week of celebrations, we want to congratulate the RT Class of 2023. All 21 students passed their national certification exam. 🩻👏
This exam is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Upon passing, the graduates receive the professional designation of Register Technologist in Radiography, signified with the initials RT(R).
