Why can't your child put down the game?
Our brains are built to chase surprises. In the wild, that hunt for the next ripe berry kept our ancestors alive. Every unexpected find delivered a small hit of dopamine, and the brain learned to keep looking. Scientists call this variable reward.
That same wiring is what loot boxes, gacha pulls, spin wheels, and mystery packs are built to trigger. The reward is unpredictable on purpose.
Ask them:
Does your favorite game have surprise rewards or random pulls?
Do you ever feel like you can't stop trying?
This isn't a willpower problem. It's ancient biology aimed at children by design.
