Every summer, the New York State Education Department partners with the New York State Library to create a summer reading theme that encourages our kids to read throughout the summer. This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities" focusing on oceanography and water resources. As a community, Cruising Kids will be sailing to Brooklyn Public Library-Jamaica Bay Branch on Saturday July 9th at 11 am to launch into and learn more about oceanograpy. 2022 Summer Reading Program Provides Children and Families “Oceans of Possibilities” for Summer Fun and Learning New York’s public libraries will host exciting activities, events, and fun and enriching programs like reading challenges throughout the summer.

While February is the month that has been nationally chosen to celebrate Black history, we know that Black history can not/should not be limited to only one month! Let's continue to honor Black men and women who spoke up, spoke out, fought against, and even lost their lives for the freedom of Black people all over the world. ❤️
