Columbia Data for Social Good explores how data and technology can benefit humanity.

This hackathon will introduce you to ways AI can improve human life.

We will use a real-life dataset from the 2015 Gorkha earthquake in Nepal. This dataset is one of the most extensive post-disaster data ever collected, containing valuable information on earthquake impacts, household conditions, and socio-economic-demographic statistics.

Your goal is to predict the level of damage to buildings caused by the 2015 Gorkha earthquake in Nepal based on aspects of building location and construction.

Using post-disaster data to understand some universal patterns in nature can help minimize the effects of future disasters.

Dataset will be release to folks that sign up using the Registration Form.
