Welcome to Ms. Jen's Tutoring. I am an ESE-certified teacher in Florida who accepts the FES-UA and PEP Step Up for Students Scholarship as well as private pay students. My core philosophy is that tutoring and education is a basic human right for all, not just the rich, so I will work with families to make the cost affordable whenever humanly possible.
I have almost two decades of experience working with neurodiverse children and teens, as well as a lifetime of lived experience with multiple neurodiverse conditions. I have experienced what it is like to be the student who everyone has given up on.
I currently attend Florida Gulf Coast University, the College of Education, where I am seeking a Masters of Education in ESE. I have three more classes until I graduate, which I anticipate will take place in the summer semester of 2025. I maintain a 3.97 GPA despite facing a multitude of health conditions, including emergency VP shunt surgery in mid-April.
I offer tutoring for grades K-8 in most subject areas as well as limited subject areas for high school. In addition to traditional academic tutoring, I offer life skills tutoring, which teaches a combination of academic content from a different perspective and focuses on "soft skills" that are needed in adult life for maximum independence. All 45-minute sessions take place via Zoom, unless you are within 30 minutes of New Port Richey, Florida, and are conducted in a one-on-one manner.
