Montessori Early Childhood Guide (2026–2027 School Year)
Montessori of New Paltz, a small but thriving private Montessori school in beautiful Ulster County, NY, is seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and dedicated Montessori Early Childhood Guide to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
Nestled on a large wooded campus, our school is a warm, close-knit community where children are encouraged to grow with independence, curiosity, creativity, and respect. We are looking for a vibrant educator to co-teach within our Primary classroom while also serving as a lead member of the classroom team and becoming an integral part of our collaborative and caring school community.
MNP strives to be a progressive, socially conscious school providing an excellent education of the whole child with equal emphasis on social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We are also deeply committed to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive community that respects and celebrates different cultures and perspectives, and reflects these values within our classrooms, library, curriculum, and teachings. We are especially interested in candidates who actively support and embody these principles within their teaching practice and classroom community.
The ideal candidate is:
- AMS or MACTE Montessori certified
- Passionate about Montessori philosophy and child-centered education
- Patient, kind, nurturing, and enthusiastic
- A strong communicator and collaborative team player
- Confident in classroom leadership and team collaboration
- Experienced in working with young children and fostering peaceful classroom communities
- Committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive education

Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am-4pm
- Salary commensurate with experience

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Montessori Teaching Certification (AMS or MACTE)
Or
- Minimum 4 years teaching experience in a Montessori classroom preferred
