Anime Clubs NOLA

Tokyo-based art facilitator and founder of Yaco Arts Tokyo, Yasuko Onishi, will be vising New Orleans and wants to connect through an inclusive community art workshop. Yasuko will lead a sensu fan art workshop. The sensu (扇子) is a traditional Japanese folding fan, designed using paper or silk that’s mounted on bamboo slates. These fans symbolize the spreading of good fortune. At this workshop, attendees will create their own decorative art on a fan that they’ll be able to take home.

This event will be held at Brieux Carré Brewing Co. on Sunday, April 12th from 2:00 - 3:30PM. Registration is required ahead of time for this event, with a registration fee of $15.00. The deadline to register is April 1st. There will be no refunds for cancellations.

Japan Fest - New Orleans Museum of Art Celebrate Japanese culture through art, performances, food, and more at Japan Fest, organized by NOMA, the Japan Club in New Orleans, and the Consulate General of Japan in Nashville.

Crunchyroll Anime Nights, a new monthly theatrical event, kicks off in the U.S. this October.

Screenings will take place every third Monday at select theaters including:

Program will feature anime movies, anniversary specials, and sneak previews.

Anime Club NOLA will be rescheduling our meeting this weekend due to scheduling conflicts with our venue. We will post our August Calendar soon. We will also be announcing some exciting changes. Stay tuned fellow Nerds.

I swear there’s no community like the nerd community. came back to NOLA to bless the Anime Club with a shopping spree at to buy school supplies and whatever else they wanted for their passions. Our members bought games, toys, TVs, and more. The biggest impact of the day was the kids seeing and feeling the love and support of their elder nerds. Jamaal exemplifies what a dedicated and committed mentor and supporter is. Our kids are blessed to have someone who looks like them, shares their same interests, and has pride in their passions. Representation matters. I want to give a big thanks to the Walmart on Tchop, Son of a Saint, and Jamaal Williams for making this experience for our kids happen.

We hate to do it, but we won’t be having Anime Club this weekend due to attending Galaxy Con. But if you still need that anime fix, come and check out and enjoy the atmosphere and experience. You might even see me there. Have a great weekend my fellow nerds.
