Have you played on an automatic table yet?

If you’re used to shuffling and building the wall by hand, an automatic table is a whole different experience. The table does the shuffling and builds the wall for you, so when you’re ready for the next game, you’re ready to play.

It’s especially fun when you have your regular group and just want to settle in, catch up and get in as much Mahj as possible.

Our automatic table is available for Open Play bookings and table rentals on Thursdays and Fridays at:

Whether you’ve been playing for years or you’re newer to the game and ready to try your first tournament, we have a seat for you.

Saturday, October 3 | Experienced Players
A full day of American Mah Jongg with four rounds of play, rotating tables, prizes, door prizes, lunch, and plenty of time at the tables.

Sunday, October 4 | Beginners & Intermediate
Playing for three years or less? This tournament is designed to help you get comfortable with tournament play before making the jump to an experienced event. Four rounds, rotating tables, lunch, prizes, and a fun day of Mahj.

Both tournaments follow National Mah Jongg League rules and use the 2026 NMJL card.

Our General Strategies Boot Camp is a hands-on day designed to help you make more confident, intentional decisions at the table.

We’ll cover strategies like:

• When to call and when to pass
• Managing gap hands
• Planning purposeful discards
• Recognizing dead hands
• Using jokers strategically
• Do***ng your hand

Then, you’ll put those strategies into practice during guided open play, with plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Sometimes the best way to get more comfortable with Mah Jongg is simply to spend more time at the tables. Mahj & Merriment gives you five Thursdays to play, build confidence, practice keeping score and tracking your games, and enjoy some friendly competition along the way. We're prorating registration so you only pay for games you can join us for!

Eat Around the World is back! And this month, we’re taking you to Monaco for dinner.

We’ll be serving up a Mediterranean-inspired meal with a little nod to the casinos of Monte Carlo. While you’re enjoying dinner, we’ll have some fun at the table learning more about Mah Jongg scoring, those numbers on the NMJL card, and how betting fits into the game.

Think of it as dinner with a side of Mahj education. And since we’re in Monaco, we might as well have a little fun with the betting, too. Bring some pocket change if you’d like the full experience!

Doors open at 6 PM, and playing continues until 8:30 PM.
