I have been on a Lent WIP challenge, working to finish 40 “Works In Progress” in the 40 days of Lent, taking on no new projects...except these new doll color samples. and (a fellow ) created , anti-pilling yarn in 12 skin tones for dolls. I had planned to do a reveal post, but couldn’t wait to get my hands and hooks on my new yarn babies. ☺️🧶. But here is my review: I used to use Red Heart Soft to make my dolls, but will be switching to Lion Brand Skein Tones for the following reasons: 1) the wider selection of colors, 2) it is soft, but not too soft, 3) it has sheen, but not overly shiny and slick, and 4) and it is anti-pilling. The negatives I have are a)currently I can only get it online, and while they have discounts on the Lion Brand website from time to time, there is still shipping that usually cancels out that shipping, and b) yarn barf...I crochet from inside out and every skein I worked with had yarn barf when I searched for the interior end piece making it a little difficult to get started.

Good morning and Thank you to all of you that bid and/or shared the By Hook Crocheting FrontLine Heroes MiniMe Doll auction. Your love and support of me/By Hook Crocheting, and most importantly the front line heroes is greatly appreciated.
The winning bid, made the first day of the auction by Mario Anderson, will be going to the Tulane Healthcare Providers Fund - Green Wave Heroes, which was established with the goal of raising money to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our frontline healthcare team. Thanks to generous donors more than $90,000 has been raised to assist with childcare services, more than 3,500 delicious and nutritious meals, and other support for Tulane healthcare workers on the front lines. And the donations are doing double duty, because the fund is purchasing meals exclusively from local restaurants, which are also struggling during this pandemic.
In addition to the winning bid I will be adding a financial donation that was given to me for the work I was doing in making masks, bringing the total to $102.
