Congratulations to our very own Dr. Tucker Fuller on the world premiere of his new Piano Concerto at the New Marigny Theater. The piece featured pianist Brian Hsu and Francis Scully’s New Resonance Orchestra.
Following the success of Medea as a Lounge Singer, this premiere marked another exciting moment for one of New Orleans’ most prolific composers. We’re proud to have Dr. Fuller on the Make Music NOLA team, where he inspires students in the classroom while continuing to build a powerful body of original work.

🎷 Happy Jazz Fest—and we’ve got some great news from the MMN team! 🎶
We’re proud to share that our intern teacher, Whitney Cooper, a student at Xavier University, has been awarded a grant from the Bloomberg Youth Climate Action Fund. Her project focuses on restoring abandoned instruments by repairing and repurposing them for future use.
Thank you to the Bloomberg Foundation, the City of New Orleans, and our Executive Director, Dr. Ko, for supporting this work and guiding the process. Kudos to Whitney for leading with heart, creativity, and purpose!
This is what it looks like when passion meets action. 💙🎻

🎉 Exciting News from the MMN Family 🎶
We’re proud of Dr. Tucker Fuller, one of our amazing teachers at Make Music NOLA. His new piece, Medea as a Lounge Singer, debuted and was a hit!
When Dr. Fuller isn’t composing beautiful music, he’s teaching and inspiring Make Music Nola students every week. He brings his talent, heart, and love for music into the classroom, and our students feel it.
Congratulations, Dr. Fuller! We’re lucky to have you on our team. 💙🎻

We’re thankful for the Threadhead Cultural Foundation and their continued support of our mission at Make Music NOLA.
Their deep love for New Orleans culture shines through everything they do. By supporting musicians, artists, and community projects like ours, they help keep the spirit of this city alive. Their support allows us to teach string music to school-aged kids across New Orleans and create real opportunities for growth.
Thank you for believing in our work and helping us pass on the music and stories that shape our city. 🎻💙
