We are proud to celebrate a BIG WIN at Plaquemines Parish Learning Center! 🎉

Our campus has officially been recognized as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts Rising Campus Award recipient! This honor reflects the heart, dedication, and commitment our staff and students show every single day in building strong relationships, fostering a positive culture, strong attendance, and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.

This achievement didn’t happen overnight—it’s the result of intentional effort, teamwork, and a shared belief that every student matters.

To our incredible educators, staff, students, and families—THANK YOU for making our school a place where hearts are connected and success is rising! 💙

Just like planting a seed in the soil, growth in life requires patience, care, and faith. 🌱

Recently, our students planted seeds and will watch them grow over time. It’s a beautiful reminder that the same is true for us. The seeds we plant—kindness, hard work, perseverance, and faith—may start small, but with nurturing and time, they blossom into something amazing.

Never underestimate the power of a small beginning. What you plant today can grow into something extraordinary tomorrow. 🌿

The Morning Show establishes the tone for the day. It is truly remarkable when students assume ownership of the broadcast. This month, our Capturing Kids' Hearts initiative focuses on Courage. Students explored the meaning of the word and provided examples of how it manifests on campus. Way to go PPLC future broadcasters!

It is with great pleasure that we congratulate Ms. Jacquelyn Meardith, who received the esteemed Melvina Johnson Sias I Love You Award. Mrs. Sias was a devoted educator who led and served others in love. This award recognizes faculty and staff who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and a commitment to serving others with love. Ms. Meardith's ongoing service within her school and embodiment of the spirit of love makes her an exemplary recipient of this prestigious award, which honors the remarkable legacy of Mrs. Sias. The award was presented by Mrs. Sias’ daughter, Tia Matthews and longtime friend and peer, Mrs. Hoyle. The PPLC ambassador welcomed the guests and assisted in the celebration.

As temperatures remain very cold, students are encouraged to wear additional layers under their uniforms and bring appropriate outerwear such as coats, gloves, and hats as needed.

Thank you for your flexibility and partnership as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our school community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow.
