Lauren LeDuff-King brings 15 years of experience in education to her role as Principal of Sophie B. Wright Charter School. A dedicated educator and instructional leader, she has built her career around improving student outcomes, developing teachers, and creating school cultures where every student is challenged, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Mrs. LeDuff-King began her educational career as an English teacher before assuming a series of leadership roles, including English Department Chair, Assistant Principal, and Founding Director of the 9th Grade Academy at Warren Easton Charter High School. Throughout her career, she has led initiatives focused on academic achievement, instructional excellence, school improvement, and student support systems, earning a reputation as a collaborative leader who combines high expectations with genuine care for students and staff.

A proud graduate of Warren Easton Charter High School, Mrs. LeDuff-King earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Xavier University of Louisiana. Her journey from student to teacher to school administrator reflects her deep belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of investing in future generations.

As Principal of Sophie B. Wright Charter School, Mrs. LeDuff-King is committed to building on the school’s proud legacy while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and opportunity. She believes that strong relationships, effective instruction, and meaningful collaboration among students, families, educators, and the community are the foundation of lasting success. Her leadership is guided by the belief that every student deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for college, careers, and life.

Mrs. LeDuff-King values faith, family, and service. She is passionate about developing future leaders, strengthening public education in New Orleans, and ensuring that every Warrior is equipped to grow, achieve, and thrive.

The countdown to an amazing school year has begun! Join us for Sophie B. Wright High School Institute of Academic Excellence’s Back-to-School Orientation.

🗓 Monday, July 20, 2026
🎓 9th Grade: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
🎓 10th Grade: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

🗓 Tuesday, July 21, 2026
🎓 11th Grade: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
🎓 12th Grade: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

📍 Location: School Gym

Students will receive a welcome packet, meet their teachers, learn about school expectations, and get ready for a successful year.
