Here in the Chemistry Club, most of our activities include performing chemistry-related demonstrations in schools to spark an interest in the sciences in youngsters, putting on our holiday demo (at the end of the Fall semesters), brainstorming on fundraising ideas, and just having fun together (when not studying for those pesky exams). 1) The College of Arts and Sciences will match dollar for dollar up to $2,000 for donations made to the CIC.
2) The vice presidents will match donations from faculty and staff members dollar for dollar up to $2,000.
3) The Chemistry and Biochemistry Department is matching up to $5,000 donated to the CIC.
Here’s how your donations can help:
$10 – provides an individual whiteboard with eraser and marker for one student
$25 – provides a 3D model kit to help visualize molecular structures
$50 – provides a classroom-sized, laminated periodic table to help visualize periodic trends
$100 – provides two magnetic water molecule kits to demonstrate how water molecules interact
$500 – provides an iPad that can be used by students to role-play in lab simulations

The Boise State Chemistry Club will be hosting a Halloween event filled with family fun! There will be demos performed by mad scientists and hands-on activities for the kids. This scary event is happening Monday, Oct 29th, from 4 - 7 pm on the 3rd floor of the Science Building. Free parking is available in the Brady Garage next to the Morrison Center. Don't forget to wear your costumes!
