begins on Monday! 📚❤️Please, find time to visit the beautiful, new St. Bernard Parish Public Library where you will be able to view Mrs. Angela's class's various projects related to their reading of “The Hobbit”!📖
Students worked in small groups to: develop their ideas; decide on materials, methods, and individual tasks; then, executed their designs to realize their visions. These projects were solely the students' efforts from start to finish! 🫶🥰
Once all were completed, they were welcomed by the wonderful library staff and their new director, Ms. Lauren Clement, as they delivered their projects that will be on display all next week. As you click through the photos, scan the QR code to enjoy the skit written and performed by Luka, Eddie, and Gage! ✨🙌

This week’s 🌟MonteStory🌟 is Ms. Macy’s class learning about how the earth’s position, rotation, and revolution determine our understanding of time, seasons, and climate!
🌍☀️🌖Have you ever heard of a Montessori tellurium?
👐A tellurium is a model of the sun, earth, and moon that children can move with their hands. Instead of just reading about space, they get to see and experience it in action.
With a tellurium, kids can explore:
☀️ Why we have day and night
🌱 How seasons change throughout the year
🌙 What causes the phases of the moon
🌑 How eclipses happen
It turns big, abstract concepts into something simple, visual, and engaging. 🫶

🌟MonteStory of the Week🌟 Tommaso and Harrison (both PreK-2) working with Constructive Triangles!
One of the most beautiful materials in a Montessori classroom is the Constructive Triangles Box, and it’s so much more than just shapes!
At first glance, it looks simple: a collection of colorful triangles. But in the hands of a child, those triangles become powerful tools for discovery. 🧠
Children use them to:
🔺 Build new shapes like squares, rectangles, and hexagons
🔺 See how smaller parts come together to make a whole
🔺 Explore patterns, angles, and spatial relationships
🔺 Develop problem-solving skills
This is the beauty of Montessori: giving children materials that teach through experience.
Next time you see a child working with the triangle box, remember- they’re not just playing… they’re building the foundation for geometry, critical thinking, and confidence. 💡
