At Holy Cross, the House system is about so much more than a team competition. It is one of the ways we build brotherhood across grade levels, giving our boys a place to belong, lead, encourage one another, and grow together.

Every middle school student belongs to one of five Houses: Grotto, Cross & Anchor, Gazebo, Thunder, or Victory Bell. This year, we’re building on that tradition in a big way.

Our Houses are being reimagined to bring even more opportunities for our students to live out what it means to be a Holy Cross Man. Throughout the year, Houses will compete in academics, character, faith, attendance and participation at Holy Cross events, lunch-time House games, and more. Our high school students are joining back in, too, carrying the House they were part of in middle school with them as they continue their journey at Holy Cross. And eventually our primary school students as well!

And the competition is about more than winning.

When a Holy Cross Educator sees a student demonstrating character, living out our values, encouraging a brother, or contributing positively to our community, they can award points to his House. Each week at lunch, updated House standings are displayed for everyone to see, giving students the opportunity to celebrate their brothers, keep one another accountable, and challenge their House to rise to the top.

Behind all of it are our Holy Cross Educators, who pour time, creativity, energy, and care into creating experiences that bring our boys together. They are helping turn friendly competition into opportunities for leadership, responsibility, faith, perseverance, and brotherhood.

Because at Holy Cross, “Being Family” means making sure every young Holy Cross Man knows he has a place, a team, and brothers who are cheering him on!

A look back at an unforgettable Pep Rally from a couple of weeks ago!

While our Student Center Arena has been under construction, we’ve been taking the excitement outside, and this outdoor Pep Rally was one for the books!

The beginning of this school year has reminded us just how grateful we are for our beautiful campus, for the spaces that bring our community together, and for the Holy Cross spirit that knows how to make the most of every opportunity. Whether we’re inside or outside, our Tigers continue to show up, celebrate one another, and make great memories together.

Now, we’re just days away from welcoming everyone back into the Student Center Arena, complete with a new gym floor and ready once again for Friday assemblies, Mass, and so much more!

And next Friday, we’ll celebrate with our very first indoor Pep Rally for the year!

Until then, we’re grateful for these moments that happened outside, and for our Holy Cross Faith community that knows how to make the most of wherever we gather!

🔥🍔 The hottest club on campus vs. the coolest club on campus! 🍦❄️

The rivalry is heating up at Holy Cross, and we’re here for it!

In one corner, we have the Holy Smokes Grill Club, firing up year two and celebrating National Cheeseburger Day last week. In the other, Scoops Spes Unica, serving up something sweet after its inaugural Ice Cream Day today!

These clubs are bringing the flavor, the fun, and a little friendly competition to campus. All made possible by the creativity and enthusiasm of our students and the support of our dedicated Holy Cross Educators.

A special shoutout to Scoop There It Is for bringing our Scoops Spes Unica students’ creative flavor ideas to life! We are so grateful for your partnership and for helping make this club a sweet success.

Mrs. Bonura’s 7th grade scientists put their measurement and lab safety skills into action with a colorful hands-on investigation. Students carefully measured different amounts of colored liquid, following proper lab techniques and safety procedures. When their measurements were accurate, they were rewarded with a surprise rainbow!

Beyond creating something colorful, students learned why precision and accuracy matter in the real world. They discussed how careers such as pharmacy depend on careful measurements when preparing medications, where even small errors can make a big difference.

Students also practiced proper use of lab equipment, safe laboratory behavior, and correct cleanup procedures, building the skills they’ll use throughout the year in science! 🧪🥼🧑‍🔬
