(4/4) ✨ Now for closeups of the handknits!

I dyed all of the yarn for these in November, and started the knitting in December.

Since the sweater is knit at such a large gauge, it didn’t take too long to knit up- maybe a month.

The ruffles on the clown collar took the longest! At one point, there were 544 stitches on my needles for those ruffles! 😅😅😅

And aren’t those wristlets the sweetest?! 😍 I want to knit another pair in green for my Krewe des Fleur costumes! 🍃

(3/4) ✨ More Mardi Gras magic.

It was easily my best one, yet!

(2/4) ✨ This was my first Mardi Gras where people actually stopped me and asked if they could take my photo. 🥰

Normally I get real awkward when someone compliments me, but my sister was there with me to shout, “SHE KNIT THAT!!!”

And let me tell you- when it comes to something I made with my own two hands, I will light up like a damn peacock and happily receive ALL KNITTING-RELATED COMPLIMENTS!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

There is just something about someone recognizing the TIME and PASSION you put into creating something that somehow just gives you all the feels.

(1/2) ✨ Took me all week to go through my Mardi Gras photos, and there was just too much creativity and joy to squeeze into one post! 🥰

My sister flew down from Seattle to spend the weekend with me- and it made my heart so happy to watch her embrace her first Mardi Gras experience with open wings (pun intended, as she was a 🐦‍🔥)!

One of her favorite parts of Mardi Gras was, “witnessing the incredible density, variety, and quality of thoughtful, playful, and even poignant costumes”.

I tried my best to balance being present in the moments of magic, along with pausing to capture some photos of the costumes of talented and creative friends and strangers.

Joyeux Mardi Gras! ✨
