Closing out Medical Laboratory Professionals week. It was a busy week with labs and lectures but we still had time to enjoy some treats in between.

Our 2nd year students are learning how to perform an urinalysis.This skill helps them identify infections and uncover any potential underlying conditions. Our 1st year students are mastering the art of manual pipetting , an essential skill that ensures accuracy and precision in testing. Every drop matters when it comes to delivering reliable results

This Spring our 2nd year students are learning the most important testing theory in blood bank (AKA immunohematology) the Anti-Human Globulin Test. These tests tell us about the patients' antibodies and help us ensure the transfusion of compatible blood products.

Fall of 2025 is complete..but not without celebrating our graduating class of 2025 and our 1st year students moving up into their last year!! Can't wait to see the proud graduates at graduation!

Our 1st year MLT students are starting with the basics in immunology and microbiology! 🧪🔬 This week, they’re exploring how the complement pathways defend the body against infection, step by step, and beginning their journey into microorganism identification — starting with the essential first techniques of staining, culture, and observation.

This summer our students took a deep dive into parasitology & hematology.
Parasitology: learning how to detect & identify pathogenic parasites
Hematology: learning how to perform a complete blood count which is essential for evaluating infections, anemia, and blood disorders

Our 1st year students (not all pictured) were able to tour the hospital laboratory of University Medical Center. They were inspired to see and experience real world testing and their future career!
