I offer 3 prerecorded math ACT workshops year round. The Graphing Calculator workshop is a prerequisite for the Advanced Class. Students will have access to the recordings and can re-watch it as many times as they want after the class is completed.

Here are descriptions of my 3 workshops:

🧮Graphing Calculator Workshop: this course covers the Math basics, gives a Calculator program with 50+ formulas and a bunch of shortcuts, plus a review of geometry and statistics that tends to get skipped in math. ($150 per-recorded)

📐Geometry Power Hour: Geometry problems similar to every geometry problem on 4 released tests from 2022! ($50)

📈 Advanced ACT Math Workshop: Focuses on problems 30-60 on the Math ACT test. These problems are the more advanced problems for kids in the mid 20's and up who are trying to gain the highest ACT scores. ($150 per-recorded)

The new enhanced ACT paper tests start in September. Here's a little info about the Math section.

The math section of the Enhanced ACT, introduced, differs from the previous version in several key ways.

Key Differences in the Math Section

1. Fewer Questions, More Time per Question

Old ACT: 60 questions in 60 minutes.

Enhanced ACT: 45 questions in 50 minutes.

Result: Approximately 67 seconds per question, up from 60 seconds, allowing for more thoughtful responses.

2. Reduced Answer Choices

Old ACT: Each question had 5 answer choices.

Enhanced ACT: Each question has 4 answer choices.

Impact: Simplifies decision-making and slightly increases the probability of selecting the correct answer by chance.

3. Adjusted Content Emphasis

Shift in Focus: Greater emphasis on Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Statistics & Probability.

Reduced Emphasis: Fewer questions on Precalculus and advanced topics.

Implication: Aligns more closely with typical high school curricula, potentially benefiting students with a strong foundation in these areas.

4. Fewer Complex, Multi-Step Problems

Old ACT: Included more Integrating Essential Skills questions requiring multiple steps.

Enhanced ACT: Reduced number of such complex questions.

Benefit: May reduce cognitive load and time pressure on test-takers.

5. Inclusion of Field Test Items

Enhanced ACT: Includes 4 unscored field test questions within the Math section.

Note: These questions are indistinguishable from scored ones, so it's essential to approach each question with equal seriousness.

While the Enhanced ACT's math section offers more time per question and fewer answer choices, the adjustments in content focus and question complexity are designed to better reflect high school math curricula. These changes aim to provide a more streamlined and accessible testing experience without significantly altering the core skills assessed.
