During her time in the clinic, Jasmine consistently excelled across all areas of practice, including intellectual property and contract drafting and we are confident she will bring that same drive to the Disney legal team. Our Technology & Entrepreneurship Clinic had a highly productive trip to Washington, D.C. for the annual visit to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. We also had the opportunity to reconnect with our alumni in the area, many of whom are doing impressive work across the nation’s capital.

Yesterday, our Tech Clinic student attorneys had the privilege of attending an oral argument in a trademark case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Observing appellate advocacy at that level was an invaluable experience, and they appreciated the opportunity to engage with the attorneys who argued the case. Our students were also recognized on the record by the court and had the honor of meeting with Judge Carl E. Stewart after the hearing. We are grateful to the Fifth Circuit, Judge Stewart, and his staff for their hospitality and for making this experience possible. We look forward to returning!

We are incredibly proud of our Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition team, who competed this past weekend at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

Our students argued a complex trademark appeal, an opportunity many attorneys do not experience until much later in their careers. Briefing and arguing a federal trademark case at this stage is a remarkable achievement and a standout law school experience.

We are grateful to the International Trademark Association for creating this opportunity to present arguments in federal court, and especially thankful to the INTA Foundation for supporting our team through the INTA Scholarship.
