We’re so excited to welcome to the Clayworks shop this May! As part of our new visiting artist workshop series, Jennifer is going to be throwing down for 2 days May 9 and 10 with workshops starting at 2pm and 6pm each day. She’s going to deep dive into slab building and surface design! On day one, we’ll use stencils to create a hollow form that can evolve into a bowl, vase, or sculptural piece—whatever direction your ideas take you. Day two is all about bringing your surface to life with underglaze techniques, including image transfers and sgraffito. Your finished work will be fired and glazed, ready to pick up once it’s complete. Sign up at Crescentcityclayworks.com/clayschool

We had an impromptu with some of our members making a ‘perfect’ 8 inch cylinder with a 5 inch base and 4 inch rim! and Henry J. Did an incredible job ( only winners this time around). Hoping we can do this again with a proper trophy next time!

Last week we finished our first 6-week sculpture classes at Crescent City Clayworks, including Beginner Sculpture and Beginner Figure Sculpture with a live model. It’s been inspiring to see this new part of our program come to life.
